Taboo from Tom Hardy, Steven Knight & Ridley Scott

The eight-part miniseries set in 1813, reunites Tom Hardy with his Peaky Blinders and Locke collaborator Steven Knight, who created the adventure series based on an original story by Hardy and his father Chips Hardy.
The project centers on James Delaney (Hardy), a rogue adventurer who returns from Africa with fourteen stolen diamonds to seek vengeance after the death of his father. Refusing to sell the family business to the East India Company, he sets out to build his own trade and shipping empire and finds himself playing a very dangerous game.
Danish director Kristoffer Nyholm has signed on to direct the first half of the period drama. 'Scott Free Productions' and 'Hardy Son & Baker' are producing the project for BBC. Sonar Entertainment is handling worldwide distribution. The series is set to air in 2016 on BBC One in the U.K. and FX in the States.
