Near Myth: The Oskar Knight Story is an award-winning new film from American writer/director Scott Fivelson.
This brilliant mockumentary, a unique Hollywood story is the life-and-times chronicle of one of our greatest directors, Oskar Knight. He probably never should have made Oskar Knight's Moby Dick, but he did make They Came in Low.
Lenny Von Dohlen (Twin Peaks, Tender Mercies, Electric Dreams) brings the iconic director stirringly to life -- a legend of American cinema, forgotten by many, but remembered here by such real-life stars as Academy Award winner Margaret O'Brien, International Emmy winner David Suchet, Portuguese Golden Globe winner Joaquim de Almeida, Julianna Guill, Kristina Anapau, Rudolf Martin, Randall Batinkoff, Lawrence Pressman, Maya Stange, Noel Neill, Jon Provost, and many more.
The film has been named "Best Feature" at the 2016 Eurovision Palermo Film Festival, "Best Narrative Feature" at the 2016 Malta International Film Festival, and "Best Foreign Feature" at the 2016 Kiev Film Festival," as well as winning the "Best Director Spotlight" award at the 2016 Hollywood Reel International Film Festival and "Best Director" at the 2017 Vancouver Filmdance Festival.
